BTS Receives The First Platinum Certificate From Streaming in Japan, TWICE Receives Gold and Silver Certificates
BTS managed to make new history by receiving the first Platinum certificate for the streaming category in Japan. In early 2020, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) created a new certification system for streaming music, after previously only certified physical and digital album sales.

Under the certification system, a song can be certified Silver if it records 30 million streams, Gold for 50 million streams and Platinum for 100 million streams.

The RIAJ recently announced BTS' 'Dynamite' as the first foreign group song to be certified Platinum in the streaming category in Japan. The song managed to get 100 million streams in Japan in just 3 months of its release.

Apart from 'Dynamite', Ed Sheeran's 'Shape Of You' is the only foreign song that has received a Platinum certificate for streaming in Japan.

BTS also received a Gold certificate for the songs 'DNA' and 'Stay Gold' which each achieved 50 million streams, and a Silver certificate for the song 'Your Eyes Tell' which reached 30 million streams.

Not only BTS, girl group TWICE has also recorded impressive achievements in the streaming category after getting a Gold certificate for 'What Is Love?' and 'YES or YES', as well as a Silver certificate for the song 'Candy Pop'.

Congratulations to BTS and TWICE! (www.onkpop.com)
