BTS is making history again after their latest album 'BE' topped the Billboard 200 chart. Billboard recently announced that 'BE' has managed to rank first on the Billboard 200 chart, a chart that takes into account popular albums in the United States.
BTS became the first group to successfully top the Billboard 200 chart with two albums in 2020 and the only artist able to match that record this year is American rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
With 'BE' entering No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart, BTS is the only South Korean artist to have topped the Billboard 200 chart with five albums. Amazingly, these five albums managed to rank first on the Billboard 200 chart in just 2 years and 6 months. Starting from the album 'Love Yourself: Tear' in June 2018, followed by 'Love Yourself: Answer', 'Map of the Soul: Persona', 'Map of the Soul: 7' and most recently 'BE'.
The last group that was able to top the Billboard 200 chart with five different albums in a short time was The Beatles, from July 30th, 1966 to December 28th, 1968.
According to data released by Billboard, the album 'BE' managed to sell 242,000 units in the week of November 26th. That amount consists of 177,000 physical album copies, 35,000 album downloads and 30000 album streams, which is the equivalent of 48.56 million online music streams in just the first week.
