DAY6's 'HAPPY' Achieves The First Win on Inkigayo!

The famous Korean boy band, DAY6 achieved their first win on the music show Inkigayo. On September 29th, 2024, DAY6 received the winning trophy on the latest episode of Inkigayo.

This JYP Entertainment boy band won with their song "Happy". This was their first win on the Inkigayo music program during their career.

This win was also their first win with the song "Happy". Apart from their first win at Inkigayo, this trophy is DAY6's sixth since 9 years of their debut.

The song "Happy" is DAY6's b-side song which beats DAY6's "Welcome To The Show" as well, and Lee Young Ji's "Small Girl".

DAY6 won with a score of 6380, while their losing song got 4585 points. Rapper Lee Young Ji's song "Small Girl" in collaboration with EXO's D.O received a score of 4521 points.

BSS SEVENTEEN Wins OST Awards for Drama ''Queen of Tears'' at The 2024 Seoul Drama Awards

SEVENTEEN's Sub Unit, also known as BooSeokSoon (BSS), won the OST award at the 2024 Seoul Drama Awards. The event was held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, September 25th 2024.

In the K-drama OST category, BSS, who sang the Queen of Tears OST entitled "The Reasons of My Smile", won the award.

Seungkwan, a member of SEVENTEEN, gave a statement about his experience at the event.

He stated, “Because I am active as a singer, I only attended music awards ceremonies.”

However, he felt honored to be able to attend the Seoul Drama Awards where many great people were present. According to him, receiving the OST award chosen by fans was a great honor.

Yesterday on September 24th, according to the latest chart as of September 28th 2024 released by US Billboard, ENHYPEN's 2nd full album entitled ROMANCE: UNTOLD entered the Billboard 200. The album rose one place from the previous week to rank 199th on the Billboard 200.

Previously, 'ROMANCE: UNTOLD' was ranked 2nd on July 27th 2024 and has remained on the chart for 10 consecutive weeks. The album showed its presence on three album charts including the Billboard 200 and maintained its highest ranking at 5th place on World Albums.

SM Entertainment Will Form a Kpop Boygroup in England with The X Factor Producer Nigel Hall

SM Entertainment is reportedly going to debut a Kpop boy group in the UK. Later, the group will be led by the producer of The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent, Nigel Hall. This news was actually announced last year. This boy group in England will later be under the British entertainment company Moon&Back (M&B) led by Nigel Hall.

 

SM Entertainment and M&B plan to make a TV series containing six episodes. The series will feature the creation of a Kpop group consisting of British members.

 

A total of 84 local music composers were recruited by the agency. The recruitment was done through its music publishing affiliate, Kreation Music Rights. This step was taken as SM Entertainment's effort to expand its music market overseas.

 

"This year, we will establish a US branch of Kreation Music Rights to recruit American composers," said SM Entertainment.

 

The plan is that SM Entertainment will hold at least two large-scale song camps to maximize production capabilities. This announcement adds to the list of new artists under SM Entertainment.

 

Previously, SM Entertainment had prepared NCT Wish's debut this month. This new group will officially debut by appearing at the label's concert, SMTown Live at Tokyo Dome, Japan, on February 21 2024. NCT Wish is the new sub-unit of the Kpop group NCT.

 

Apart from NCT Wish, SM Entertainment also plans to debut a new girl group, Naevis. This group is SM Entertainment's first virtual artist related to the Kpop group aespa.

On Tuesday (28/11), the 2023 Mnet Asian Music Awards were held again at Tokyo Dome, Japan. As the event neared the end, the winner of the highest category in the music event was announced.

Nomination in the Worldwide Icon of the Year category or known as Daesang, which is the highest award for artists in the music industry.

The Worldwide Icon of the Year award is also the most coveted award for all artists. Popular boy group BTS again won the Worldwide Icon of the Year (Daesang) at the 2023 MAMA AWARDS.

Even though BTS is known to be on hiatus as a group, they still managed to win the Daesang award at the event.

TXT Successfully Sells 1.8 Million Albums 'The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION' In One Day!

TXT again showed their stunning achievements with the sales of their latest album entitled 'The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION'.

On Friday, January 27th, TXT comeback with the release of their 5th mini album entitled 'The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION'. Along with the mini album, TXT also uploaded a music video for the main song titled 'Sugar Rush Ride'.

Now, based on data from the Hanteo Chart, the mini album "The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION" has sold 1,868,919 copies in just one day since its release.

TXT became the 5th K-Pop group to be able to sell 1 million albums in one day, after BTS, SEVENTEEN, BLACKPINK and Stray Kids.

The list of the most popular boy group members for December 2022 has been released again by the Korean Business Research Institute, filtering data for 703 boy group members, from November 17th, 2022 to December 17th, 2022.

BTS' Jungkook has now replaced BTS' Jin who previously occupied the first position on a similar list in November. Jungkook, who is the maknae or the youngest member of his group, has pocketed 10,364,722 points, an increase of 79.89% from the previous month.

While in second place, Kang Daniel ex Wanna One got 5,942,367 points for the list of the most popular boy group members this month. Kang Daniel also rose one place up the list in November.

The third position was again filled by BTS member, Jimin, who won 5,724,844 points for the December list. Jimin, who switched positions with Kang Daniel, also decreased his points by 0.66% this time.

The list of the most popular South Korean boy groups was released again by the Korean Business Research Institute, which has filtered 53,254,856 data from November 10th, 2022 to December 10th, 2022.

Through this list, the BigHit Music boy group, BTS again occupied the first position which they have now done for 55 months in a row, with a score of 12,276,480 points. The score achieved by BTS for December 2022 also showed an increase of 54.89% from the previous month.

While SEVENTEEN from Pledis Entertainment is in second place with a total score of 3,805,885 points. SEVENTEEN also showed an increase in their score from November, up 70.67%.

Stray Kids, which consists of Bang Chan, Lino, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N, won a score of 2,598,638 points for November 2022. Apart from dropping to third place, the score achieved by Stray Kids also dropped 10.19 %.

The list of the most popular boy group members has been released by the Korean Business Research Institute for January 2022. The list is the result of an analysis of various fields, sorting 703 boy group members which are taken from data collected from December 15th, 2021 to January 15th, 2022.

Through the list of the most popular boy group members in January 2022, 2PM's Junho managed to dominate with a reputation value of 7,425,507. The score achieved by 2PM's Junho increased by 39.07% from the previous month.

Junho garnered a lot of attention with keywords such as The Red Sleeve, in which he became the male lead. Meanwhile, Junho's song with his group 'My House' and his appearance at the MBC Music Festival also played a role in his position on the list of the most popular boy group members in January 2022.

Furthermore, in second place was filled by one of the BTS members, Jimin who stayed in second place with a reputation value of 7,170,347. In third place was occupied by Wanna One member and founder of KONNECT Entertainment, Kang Daniel who managed to achieve a total reputation score of 5,357,392.

BTS Confirmed Absent From 'MAMA 2021', Here's The Reason!

BTS confirmed that they will not attend the Mnet awards ceremony, 'MAMA 2021' because of this. On December 2nd, 2021, the South Korean government has just announced the latest prokes (health protocol) which requires all individuals who come from abroad to go through self-isolation for 10 days.

The latest regulation was passed after confirmation of the news about a new variant of the corona virus aka COVID-19. Because of this, BTS has a schedule until December 3rd, 2021 in the United States, which is confirmed to be absent from 'MAMA 2021' because they have to undergo 10 days of self-isolation.

It is estimated that BTS will set foot in South Korea on December 4th, 2021 and undergo an isoman which will be completed on December 14th if there are no problems. While the upcoming 'MAMA 2021' will be held on December 11th, 2021.

BTS Becomes First Artist To Sell Out 4 Concerts at SoFi Stadium

BTS managed to set a record and make a new history at the SoFi Stadium. BTS is currently known to be holding a concert at the SoFi Stadium located in Inglewood, California, United States.

The concert titled 'BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LA' was held for 4 days starting from November 27th and 28th, until December 1st and 2nd.

Christy Castillo Butcher, Senior Vice President of Programming at SoFi Stadium, said, “We are thrilled that BTS's first historic concert in the United States since 2019 was held at SoFi Stadium. BTS sold out four concerts for the first time in SoFi Stadium history. This concert achieved the highest ticket sales of any concert ever held by a single band or artist at SoFi Stadium.”

The SoFi Stadium first opened in September 2020 and has a capacity of 100,000 spectators. However, because the BTS concert stage uses a large screen, the number of seats that can be used is around 50 thousand seats for one concert.

This concert was also played live at the YouTube Theater which has an audience capacity of 6400 seats. After holding concerts on November 27th and 28th local time, BTS will again entertain fans at the SoFi Stadium on December 1st and 2nd.
