Jiyoon Officially Leaves Weeekly
Jiyoon has officially left the girl group Weeekly. On Wednesday (06/01), the IST Entertainment agency announced that Jiyoon will end her career as a member of Weeekly due to health problems, so Weeekly will continue their activities with 6 members.

Jiyoon had previously gone on hiatus twice after experiencing symptoms of an anxiety disorder. She first went on hiatus in August 2021 and resumed her activities in December 2021. In February 2022, Jiyoon was back on hiatus and absent from promotional activities for Weeekly's latest single album, "Play Game: AWAKE".

The following is the official announcement from the IST Entertainment agency:
"Hello. This is IST Entertainment.

We would like to sincerely thank all of the Daileeees for the immense love you have shown Weeekly, and we make this sudden announcement with a heavy heart.

After experiencing symptoms of anxiety disorders during promotions, Weeekly's Shin Jiyoon took two breaks last summer and this spring to fully focus on her treatment and recovery.

With the artist's health as our top priority, Jiyoon herself, her family, medical experts, and IST Entertainment are carefully discussing whether she is ready to resume her activities. However, we have reached a decision that Jiyoon needs to be in an environment where she can focus on her mental health above all else and that she should continue to focus on receiving treatment.

Thus, starting June 1st, 2022, Jiyoon will officially end her activities as a member of Weeekly, and Weeekly will continue their journey as a six-member group.

We sincerely apologize for the concern we caused, and we ask for your unwavering support for Jiyoon so that she can regain her bright and joyful energy. Furthermore, we hope that you will continue to support the six members who will work hard to fill the vacant 'Wednesday' position.

Thank you," concluded the agency.
