In the Q&Q session with Pitchfork, BTS uncovered each of their albums from 2014 to 2020. Here the members explain the song, concept, album art, and creative process. This is what BTS' albums and singles mean from "DARK & WILD" to "Dynamite".

"The cover image for 'DARK & WILD' (2014) reads 'WARNING! LOVE HURTS, IT CAUSES ANGER, JEALOUSY, OBSESSION, WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME BACK?' So this is a bit ... obsessive and it emphasizes the album's message" said RM the leader.

"The concept that the album 'WINGS' (2016) carries is a temptation, so the cover image is smoke. It's like 'What does this smell like?' 'WINGS' actually came in four different covers and put them together to create one work of art. That's smoke," continued RM. "And each member has their own symbol,"  Jungkook added.

Regarding the album cover 'LOVE YOURSELF: Tear' (2018), Jimin explained " 'LOVE YOURSELF: Tear' from the 'LOVE YOURSELF' series is about the end of love represented by falling flower petals,".

He continued, "Like 'WINGS', 'LOVE YOURSELF: Tear' also comes in four different versions that form a connected path. And a dark color was chosen as the background to show that love will end soon."

For the album 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7' (2020), Jin explained, "The number seven is the key to this album. Seven years as a member. The art focuses on '7' as a symbol. The shape and color of the album cover are determined based on individual personalities. respectively." Then J-Hope chimed in, "You will see that the seven numbers are layered. If you look closely, there are seven colors."

"As you know, we released 'Dynamite' because it's been a tough year for many people, and we really hope to bring joy and encouragement to everyone again and I think the energy of the song and the lyrics have been very well reflected into the art." said Jin.
