Since their debut, (G)I-DLE has been chosen to be the ambassador for Seoul and promoted the capital city of South Korea. One member of (G)I-DLE, Soojin was dragged into a bullying controversy at school, the Seoul City Government spoke up about their contract with the girl group.
According to press reports on April 19th, 2021, it was reported that the Seoul Municipal Government had not removed the (G)I-DLE from their position as city ambassadors, but that they would respond to this matter cautiously.
The Seoul City Government said they were internally reviewing the truth of the school bullying allegations.
Meanwhile, regarding the (G)I-DLE campaign billboards that are still being installed at stations in Seoul city even though they have expired, the Government said that they cannot remove the billboards because there are still repairs at the station and will be replaced in July after repairs finished.
