BLACKPINK managed to break the girl group record by pre-ordering their first full album. On Friday (09/04), YG Entertainment announced that "THE ALBUM" had reached 800 thousand pre-orders in just 6 days.

This amount of 800 thousand pre-orders was obtained from a total of 530 thousand pre-orders in South Korea, as well as 270 thousand pieces from the United States and Europe. This is the highest album pre-order record ever achieved by any K-Pop girl group in South Korea.

YG Entertainment stated, “After pre-orders for the limited edition full album 'THE ALBUM' opened, the album sold out in seconds. The pre-orders for the regular version album also exceeded the number that was beyond our expectations, so we are currently in the process of producing more albums."

'THE ALBUM' is BLACKPINK's first full album since debut which will be officially released on October 2nd, 2020.

Before releasing the album, BLACKPINK had revealed two pre-release songs, titled "How You Like That" and "Ice Cream". Congratulations to BLACKPINK! (www.onkpop.com)
