IVE Takes Home The 10th Trophy on 'Music Core', Congratulations!

IVE takes home the next trophy with their debut song 'ELEVEN'. This time the trophy got by IVE in the latest episode of Music Core on Saturday (01/22). 

In today's episode, 'ELEVEN' by IVE successfully got the 1st position with 6600 point. IVE managed to outperform Kim Min Seok which in the second position with 5266 point for the song 'Drunken Confenssion', and aespa in the third position with 5221 point for the song 'Dreams Come True'.

This is the 10th winning trohpy that IVE's achieve with the song 'ELEVEN' and the 10th trophy that has been achieved by IVE since debut. 'ELEVEN' now owned the record as the debut song of K-Pop girl group with the most  music show trophies, and becomes the first Quadruple Crown girl group on Music Core since 2018.

A member of GOT7 from Thailand, Mark Tuan has finally released the music video for his latest single. On this day, January 21st, 2022 at exactly 14.00 KST, Mark Tuan uploaded the music video for his latest single entitled 'My Life'.

'My Life' is the fourth single released by Mark Tuan. Previously, this GOT7 member had made his solo debut in 2020 with the song 'Outta My Head'. After leaving JYP Entertainment on January 19th, 2021, Mark Tuan chose Creative Artists Agency as his new home, officially joining on April 29th, 2021.

Ahead of Debut, VIVIZ Has Announced Their Official Fandom Name!

The girl group consisting of Eunha, SinB and Umji -VIVIZ- has announced their official fandom name ahead of their approaching debut. The announcement was released by VIVIZ through their various social media at 12.00 KST, January 21st, 2022.

Through their official announcement, VIVIZ chose NaV as their fandom. NaV (pronounced as 'Na-Vi') is a word that resembles the Korean word 'Na-Bi' which means butterfly.

NaV itself is a combination of the Korean word 'Na', which means 'I'. While 'V' or 'Vi' is the first syllable of VIVIZ. The fandom name can mean VIVIZ and the fans who fly together into the sky like butterflies.

Eunha, SinB, and Umji who are now part of the Big Planet Made agency, previously spent 6 years (since 2015) as members of the girl group GFRIEND with Yerin, Yuju and Kim So Jung (Sowon). However, the girl group did not continue their contract which ended on May 22nd, 2021 with their agency at the time, Source Music.

List of K-Pop Girl Group Members' Brand Reputation in January 2022

Who do you think are the members of the K-Pop girl group who got the highest brand reputation score this month? On the morning of Sunday (01/16), the Korean Business Research Institute has returned with their research results for K-Pop girl groups in South Korea.

The results of this research were obtained from data on 579 girl group members collected from December 16th, 2021 to January 16th, 2022.

BLACKPINK's Lisa managed to climb to first place this month, after achieving a total data sheet of 3,828,941 points, a drastic increase of 91.17%. Some of the keywords related to Lisa are 'LALISA', 'MONEY' and 'solo song'.

In second place was aespa member, Winter, who managed to obtain a total of 3,492,009 data sheets, an increase of 52.43%. Despite experiencing an increase of 28.55% from last month, BLACKPINK's Jennie slipped to third place after gaining a total of 3,397,512 points.

aespa's Karina managed to rank fourth with 3,273,701 points, while SNSD's Taeyeon was in fifth place with 3,096,724 points.

List of Most Popular Boy Groups in January 2022

The list of the most popular boy group members has been released by the Korean Business Research Institute for January 2022. The list is the result of an analysis of various fields, sorting 703 boy group members which are taken from data collected from December 15th, 2021 to January 15th, 2022.

Through the list of the most popular boy group members in January 2022, 2PM's Junho managed to dominate with a reputation value of 7,425,507. The score achieved by 2PM's Junho increased by 39.07% from the previous month.

Junho garnered a lot of attention with keywords such as The Red Sleeve, in which he became the male lead. Meanwhile, Junho's song with his group 'My House' and his appearance at the MBC Music Festival also played a role in his position on the list of the most popular boy group members in January 2022.

Furthermore, in second place was filled by one of the BTS members, Jimin who stayed in second place with a reputation value of 7,170,347. In third place was occupied by Wanna One member and founder of KONNECT Entertainment, Kang Daniel who managed to achieve a total reputation score of 5,357,392.

IVE Takes Home The 3rd Trophy Since Debut With 'ELEVEN', Congratulations!

IVE managed to get the next winning trophy with their debut song. On Wednesday (15/12), IVE's song 'ELEVEN' was successfully nominated for the winner in 'Show Champion'.

IVE had to compete with other popular K-Pop idols such as ATEEZ 'The Real', NCT U 'Universe (Let's Play Ball)', Davichi 'Everyday Christmas' and Lee Mujin 'When It Snows'. The song 'ELEVEN' finally managed to excel and delivered the third victory trophy for IVE since they debuted in the South Korean music industry.

Positive for COVID-19, Super Junior's Siwon does not attend 'MAMA 2021'

 

Surprising news came from Super Junior's Siwon who was confirmed to have contracted the COVID-19 virus. On Friday (10/12), SM Entertainment said, "Siwon was diagnosed with COVID-19 this morning. He had a second vaccine in September, but tested positive after taking a PCR test before starting his activity.”

The agency said that Siwon will temporarily stop all activities and will self-quarantine. As a result, Siwon will not be able to attend 'MAMA 2021' which will be held on December 11 tomorrow, as he was previously confirmed to be one of the presenters at the award ceremony.

Apart from Siwon, all staff and members who have direct contact with Siwon will also undergo a PCR test. (www.onkpop.com)

BTS Announces Next Country For 'PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE'

Today, December 3rd, 2021 (December 2th PST) BTS has finished all of their concert schedules at SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles. Through the 'PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE' concert, BTS presented Coldplay and Megan Thee Stallion as guest stars, who had previously collaborated with them.

Having concluded the concert in Los Angeles, via their official Twitter, BTS announced that Seoul will be their next stop for the 'PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE' concert in March 2022.

'2021 KBS Song Festival' Announces Line Up of Artists to Perform

The year-end music festival titled '2021 KBS Song Festival' has announced the line-up of artists who will be performing. On Friday (12/03), KBS announced that Red Velvet, Stray Kids, TXT, Oh My Girl, ITZY, The Boyz, aespa, ENHYPEN, Kang Daniel, and Lee Mujin will be performing at their year-end music festival.

As previously announced, the '2021 KBS Song Festival' will be hosted by three MCs consisting of ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, AOA's Seolhyun and SF9's Rowoon.

'MMA 2021' Announces Final Line Up of Upcoming Artists

The 'MMA 2021' or 'Melon Music Awards 2021' awards show has announced the final line-up of artists who will attend. Previously, 'MMA 2021' had announced several line ups of artists who would be attending, there are IU, Lee Mujin, Heize and Lim Young Woong.

Now on Thursday (12/02), 'MMA 2021' confirmed the next names consisting of MSG Wannabe from the 'Hangout With Yoo' program, then TXT, The Boyz, ENHYPEN, Brave Girls, and STAYC.

JYP Makes Sure ITZY's Yeji Will Not Attend The '2021 Asia Artist Awards'

ITZY will not appear with full member at the 'Asia Artist Awards 2021' due to the injury she suffered. The 'Asia Artist Awards 2021', which will be held on December 2nd, 2021, has announced the list of performers, one of which is a girl group from JYP Entertainment, ITZY.

However, ITZY seems unable to attend with its full members after JYP Entertainment as the agency of the girl group released a statement regarding Yeji's current health condition.

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

ITZY's Yeji was unable to attend the '2021 Asia Artist Awards' ceremony today due to the back injury she suffered while pre-recording her performance.

Doctors advised her to minimize her physical activity and get plenty of rest, and therefore prioritize the artist's health above all else, we have taken this decision that we hope fans will understand.

The agency will continue to do its best for Yeji's full recovery.

BTS Confirmed Absent From 'MAMA 2021', Here's The Reason!

BTS confirmed that they will not attend the Mnet awards ceremony, 'MAMA 2021' because of this. On December 2nd, 2021, the South Korean government has just announced the latest prokes (health protocol) which requires all individuals who come from abroad to go through self-isolation for 10 days.

The latest regulation was passed after confirmation of the news about a new variant of the corona virus aka COVID-19. Because of this, BTS has a schedule until December 3rd, 2021 in the United States, which is confirmed to be absent from 'MAMA 2021' because they have to undergo 10 days of self-isolation.

It is estimated that BTS will set foot in South Korea on December 4th, 2021 and undergo an isoman which will be completed on December 14th if there are no problems. While the upcoming 'MAMA 2021' will be held on December 11th, 2021.

However, until now, Mnet as the orgianizer of the award show has not given any statement regarding the absence of BTS who has been nominated in more than one category at the '2121 MAMA'. (www.onkpop.com)

BTS' Jin Solo Song, 'Yours' Tops iTunes More Than 90 Countries

One of the BTS members, Jin again showed extraordinary achievements through the song he sang, 'Yours'. On December 1st, 2021, Jin's 'Yours' managed to dominate iTunes in 99 countries.

The BTS member surpassed Adele's 'Easy On Me' which previously controlled iTunes in 98 countries, making 'Yours' the most #1 song on iTunes by a solo singer in 2021. Meanwhile, 'Yours' itself is a soundtrack song released for the drama 'Jirisan', played by a famous South Korean actress, Jun Ji Hyun.
